Bite Me (A Love Story) - Christopher Moore

Harper-Collins, 2010, 309 pages
ISBN: 978-0-06-177972-5
Read: September 2023, Age 45

Book 3 of Vampires in San Francisco

It was kind of funny, I guess.  A bit feverish, and much to self-aware for my tastes.  There wasn't much substance beyond the funny.  I'm starting to think that I'm not the right fit for Moore's books.  Humour is really hard, and so subjective.

I also just discovered that it's book three of the series, and that may have some bearing on my experience with the book.  I guess I'll have to read the other two and see what I missed.

Coyote Blue - Christopher Moore

Simon & Schuster, 2008, 294 pages
Original copyright 1994
Read: October 2022, age 44
ISBN: 978-1-4165-5847-7

Well, humour is a really hard genre to write.  I didn't quite gel with this book.  It was okay, but the funny missed for me and there wasn't all that much else.

Lamb - Christopher Moore

Harper, 2002, 444 pages
ISBN: 978-0-380-81381-0
Read: March 2021, age 42

So, this book is kind of like a sitcom set on the Titanic.  It's pretty funny along the way, but there's no suspense whatsoever.  We all know how it ends.  There's also no real plot.  It was more sensitive to the source material than I expected, and played much of the biblical story straight-up.  I kind of liked it, but I'm not generally into biblical comedies, and this was no different.

I had similar feelings about Monty Python's Life of Bryan, so I don't really think it's the author.  I'll look up more of his stuff.
