Book 1 of the Partials trilogy (actually a trilogy!)
Post-apocalyptic fiction from Dan Wells. It's a bit different, and not quite as compelling as the John Cleaver books, but still interesting. I wanted to like it more than I did - it was good writing, a reasonable plot, relatable, interesting characters, and a solid plot. It just... wasn't quite all there. I'm not sure what was missing.
