On the Road - Jack Kerouac
Penguin, 2011, original copyright 1955, 293 pages
ISBN 978-0-14-3120285
Read March 2017, age 38
The writing was compelling, and fully captured the feeling of a manic ride, but the characters were unlikeable, and the plot was severely lacking. Through the story, our main character went on three manic road trips where he did various immoral and/or illegal activities, and dressed it up with 'deep meaning' (he was stoned). I didn't like the book at all, and I'm not sure that it was even a good book to have read.
