The Earthsea Cycle, book 1 of 5
A juvenile fantasy novel that I somehow missed growing up, I thought I'd remedy that. The world was really neat, and the writing spectacular, but the story was very hands-off, told from a detached place. I would have preferred some more immediacy, more connection to the characters. I'm glad I read it.
