Ship of Magic - Robin Hobb (Audiobook)

NLS, 2003, 30.4 hours
Original Copyright 1998
Read by Roy Avers

I remember this being a generally fun and happy book, lighter than Hobbs' other work.  It's not.  She's really mean to her characters.  Still interesting, but I remembered too much from my paper read many years ago so I was remembering the scenes before they happened, and so much is either futile success or pyrrhic victory.  Good, in that the book was very memorable, but not as much fun as the first time through.

It really needs a female narrator, too.  Or a split cast, or something.
