I read this in high school, and it blew my mind then. It's still pretty mind-blowing, and held up on re-read after those 2+ decades. It's hard cyberpunk - with drugs/feathers substituting for tech - with just barely enough context along the way.
It was a hard book to find. I think it's been out of print for a while.
