Old Man's War, book 4
So this book was a lot of fun, well-written, insightful, and all that, but it was also completely unnecessary. There were a couple of chapters that would have been really good interwoven into The Last Colony, which already had two POV characters - a third wouldn't have been a problem. Otherwise, this was the longest book of the series, and had by far the least meat. It might have been better to have read it five-or-so years after the previous book, so that it didn't feel so repetitive, but as it was, I'd as soon not have bothered with this one.
