Epic in length, but felt dated - certainly a product of the eighties. It was ambitious, but the execution didn't work for me. It delved a bit more into theoretical 'geometry' science / magic than I could follow, and the characters weren't much of a selling point to the book. I'm not unhappy that I read it, but it just wasn't great.
