Red Rising - Book 1 of at least 3 - it looks like there are two linked trilogies so far.
Cross Gattaca with The Hunger Games, add a heaping spoonful of ancient Rome and some Greece and you get Red Rising. The plotting was really good, but it felt more like a movie than like a book. Everything happened very quickly, prioritizing plot over character and setting exploration. I think there could have been more exposition as we went along. I do want to see where the series goes.
