Generally considered to be peak Heinlein, I quite liked the book, but it wasn't as magical as I remember. Some interesting big ideas, but technologically and sociologically, and good pacing, but I didn't warm to the characters too much.
It was pretty important that the narrator had a hint of a Russian accent - the character's voice had a lot of missed articles, and that just sounds odd in straight American.
