Ten years ago, this was my favourite of all the audiobooks that I listened to.  I finished the book, went back to the start and kept going.  This time... it was good, but not as good as I remembered.   Lots of fun, but not nearly as good as Night Watch.  I was in a bit of a mood, as well - I'm not sure that I would have fully enjoyed anything.
