The Last Legion - Chris Bunch

Book 1 of The Last Legion

There were pretty clear parallels to the fall of Rome in the western empire (I mean, just look at the title...), which is often fun, and the characters were all right, and the battle scenes and military issues seemed pretty plausible and well-done, but overall I was underwhelmed.

I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the right mood or if Covid scrambled my brains, but I wasn't following along as well as maybe I could have, and I mostly didn't care about the book that much.   It was fine.  Not as fun as most.
